I have been married to my husband, Mike, for over 30 years. We were in the first grade together and were friends all through school. We have one son, Eddie, who turned 27 in November of 2003 and is quite a handsome young man.
In January 1993, Eddie was involved in an automobile accident and suffered a traumatic brain injury. Eddie is an inspiration and you can learn of his story at his web site, Eddiesisco.com.
My interest in art has always been a high priority on my list. However, I had to put it on hold for a while. I am a self taught artist but have taken a few classes here and there to improve my techniques. I have worked in several different mediums and my first love is watercolor although I am more comfortable with acrylics and can manipulate the paints into what I'm trying to express more easily.
I have taught classes in decorative art and tole painting at craft stores such as Michael's, JoAnn's Etc., and Montgomery Ward's. I have also hand painted designs on furniture for customers of Naked Furniture Company. I have painted chair cushions, pillows, walls and pictures for myself as well as others.
I simply love to paint.
I have a love of fabrics and like all the different finishes and textures that are available now. I like to design my own window treatments, bed skirts, pillow shams, bed covers, and throw pillows. When painting pillows, I take a lot of ideas from my wallpaper, nature, or pictures in magazines and books.
After many years of not being able to focus on my painting, I'm able to do more and we are so excited about it. I hope you will take a look at the web site sections and tell your friends about my web site.
